Katie’s love for film and documentaries started when she first got behind the camera in the fourth grade for a school assignment in Los Angeles, CA. Her hunger for adventure won out after college, when Katie spent several years working as an adventure guide in Costa Rica and Alaska. She soon returned to L.A. to develop her story chops on productions such as The Amazing Race. Her curiosity and desire to contribute to the places she traveled led her to get a Masters of International Affairs at Columbia University. Katie spent almost a decade working on climate change mitigation and carbon offset projects with the United Nations and the private sector. After living in Panama and managing a regional climate change program for the UN, and starting a family, Katie returned to New York and to film where she aims to create damn good documentaries that also have the power to ignite social change.
